Alexis Middleton (Grassroots Chair Appointed 2018)

* I fell in love with volleyball in the third grade while watching a University of Illinois game

*Played volleyball for Augsburg College and upon graduation in 2006 was fourth on the school’s all-time leaders list for assists and assists per game

* Started coaching in 2002 for the NOMA stars in Minnesota/North Country Region

* Will be starting my 9th year as a head coach and have coached 14s-17s

*Was CAP I certified in 2015 and am finishing up my CAP II certification

*Will be starting my 4th year as a coach for the Madison Starlings

*Will be starting my 3rd year as a director of coaching for the Madison Starlings

* Madison Starlings is a volleyball club that seeks to make club volleyball more accessible and inclusive and my experiences in this club has set me up to have a unique perspective and be able to serve as the grassroots chair

*During my time at the Madison Starlings we have grown the club from two teams to seven, taken our 15’s and 16’s teams to the Starlings National Tournament in San Diego, won our first set, matches and placed second in a tournament.

*Was awarded a Northside Planning Council’s Changemaker award for my work with the Madison Starlings Volleyball Club

* I have a PhD in Chemistry and am a full-time instructor at Madison College

* I am very blessed to have a lot of support in my family: Chris, Remmi, Mallory, Baba and Oma.
