Julie Voeck – Commissioner/President (Elected 2012, Re-elected 2016)

Voeck has been involved with Badger Region for many years in many different capacities. She was the referee chair from 2001-2008, also acting as the official’s assigner for a number of years. Voeck still serves as the Referee Ratings Chair, working with the referee chair to evaluate and train referees for Badger Region and focusing on rating referees for the regional level and preparing them for junior national and national ratings.

Voeck is a PAVO and USAV National referee, earning USAV’s prestigious Golden Whistle Award in 2012. Voeck became an international referee in 2004 and also holds a National Beach referee rating while also acting as the President of the Professional Association of Volleyball Officials (PAVO). She has served as the PAVO Director of Officials Training programs and is currently an official for several major women’s volleyball conferences, including the Big Ten, Big 12, Big East, Horizon, MAC and Summit Leagues. Her post-season experience includes the NCAA Division I and III Championships (including at the 2011 NCAA Division I National Championships) and many conference tournaments.

Voeck’s international officiating experience includes participation in the world military games from 2006-2011 and several NORCECA women’s events. In 2009 she officiated at the Final Four in Lima, Peru. In 2010, Julie officiated at the women’s Pan Am Cup in Mexico. Her international officiating has taken her to a variety of countries including Brazil, Germany, India, Mexico and Peru.

Voeck holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Business Administration. She is Director, Legislative and Regulatory Affairs for NextEra Energy Resources.

Voeck has received the Leif Storvik and Lindsey meritorious service awards from the Badger Region.
